How AeroNyx nodes discover each other with signed descriptors, keep a mirrored Directory Chain, and forward layered encrypted payloads hop by hop. Real chat uses the central relay by default; the two-hop onion route is opt-in.
The limits an AeroNyx node applies before forwarding encrypted relay traffic: previous-hop rate limits and quarantine, restart-safe route replay suppression, bounded retries and CPU admission, using only signed metadata and aggregate counters.

The MemChain record-commitment ledger orders opaque commitments to encrypted memory records in signed blocks. It has been frozen since 2026-07-13 because its single coordinator was decommissioned and handover requires that coordinator's signature; it never provided consensus.
